This year, Trilogy participated in the Wreaths Across America wreath laying event at Arlington National Cemetery on December 14. Trilogy sponsored 195 wreaths, one for each of our employees. Team Trilogy and family members met at the Trilogy office at 7AM to fuel up with donuts and coffee and prepare to brave the very chilly morning ahead.
The team, donning much-needed winter weather gear, walked the short distance from the office to the gates of Arlington National Cemetery. After going through security, our group of 25 volunteers, alongside hundreds of others, prepared and laid donated evergreen wreaths, one at a time, at each gravesite. As each wreath was laid, the volunteers paused to respectfully read the names of the service member laid to rest, as well as any family members buried with them.
Our team moved between trucks and headstones, nodding and sharing smiles with fellow volunteers, as we each paid our respects. It was powerful to gather with such a large group of strangers, with a shared purpose and shared solemnity, to make efficient work of individually laying more than 90K wreaths in just a few hours.
We were honored to be part of this cherished annual tradition. The ceremony and event provided a meaningful opportunity to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation about the cost and value of freedom.
